Plockton

 

Plockton liegt knappe 10 km nördlich von Kyle of Lochalsh und wurde einst als Fischerdorf geplant, um die Abwanderung der Einwohner aus den Highlands einzudämmen.
Erstmalig erwähnt wird Plockton im Jahre 1787, als über eine Planung eines Dorfes an dieser Stelle beraten wurde.

The village is a settlement on the shores of Loch Carron. It faces east, away from the prevailing winds, which together with the North Atlantic Drift gives it a mild climate allowing the Cordyline australis palm or cabbage tree to prosper.
